Midcity's Nature Programme has come about as a result of the desire to connect children with the natural environment.

We believe that frequent positive experiences in a natural environment can have a major impact on the healthy growth and development of children.

It enable’s children to develop a lifelong awareness, respect, care and sensitivity to the environment. We believe connecting our children with nature through hands on, informal exploration is a great way to do this. Teachers take prompts from the children and are guided by the children’s questions and encourage children’s natural curiosity and thinking, fostering their own “sense of wonder”.

The Midcity Nature Programme is run in partnership with The Department of Conservation (DOC).

Parents are welcome to be involved in these outings.
